in Canada thanksgiving is on the second monday of October... but Chrstmas is in February so no problem there.

Sorry, I didn't know you were from England. I get a lot of "Myspace Friends" who love old standards who are from Great Britain. Say, why don't you begin the push for a Thanksgiving holiday in England? By the way, make certain that your's is no later than October 1; November 26th (or so) is always overrun by Christmas!
