  • first piece is a former conrail tamper, second is a ballast regulator, those two pieces are part of whats called a surfacing gang. The whole gang consists of a Surfacing Gang Foreman, 2 machine operators, and they are assisted by a pilot, to get them railroad, and to inform them of approaching trains.

  • The first piece is a ballast tamper.
