This movie is a sort of 'reflection' on Davy Jone's part. The opening of the movie has him all wrathful and powerful and evil - the mighty embodiment of the sea. The throne he usurped from his one-time love Calypso. A happy little man - king of his own little word...
But then it all changes. His heart is stolen by Cutler Beckett and the EITC... suddenly he's no more than a tool - being forced to hunt down sailors and sailors children. Not for his crew... not for some purpose - no matter how painful - as a member aboard his ship... but to be slaughtered on some butchers block. Suddenly his own purpose no longer exists - his dreams and hopes and very reasons for locking his heart away no longer matter... this isn't his world anymore... as he thinks of all those people being slaughtered... life is painful - the afterlife should be no different. But Lord Cutler Beckett's vision isn't life... its sickness... and what of him? What of his fate...
What a waste...
The first half of the music reflects these notes I've put here and the second half reflects it as well. The last words heard and spoken from Calypso when he went aboard the Black Pearl being heard in his mind just before he's killed - and then whispering her name just before he dies... EPIC ^_^ I hope you guys think so too.
