I cant help but tear up a bit, this has so much emotion packed behind it. unexplainable.

liked the old version a little bit more than this one. but I gotta admit that the clean vocals are the best for this song! kicks ass

@rounder421 I must say as much as i love Dream Theater, they have just become very stagnant after a while. I mean there's a certain point where their "prog", isn't progressive at all.

@diaraam Yeah i wrote that comment too drunk lol :) I am old, at 36, and djent has been the one thing over the last few years that has satisfied my prog tendancies. DT doesn't do it anymore. Oceansize broke up, and Tool are coming out with a new record at some point. But for right now, Tesseract, Periphery, Textures, and fellsilent are on heavy rotation in my playlists.

This is fantastic stuff i'll get it soon on iTunes,
but you know DT and friends are a different league and styles

@theSyringe I think my main issue from Mehuggah has been the vocals. I can deal with the music, but contrasted to Tesseract, the clean vox from them outshines anything from Mehuggah's music, even though I liked Opeth's clean vox, his death growls I have learned to appreciate with the understanding of the vocal lyric. I don't take away the same importance from Meshuggah, TBF, Maybe I am missing something.

@theSyringe I have checked out animals as leaders and cloudkicker, of which the latter i'm not quite sold on, but not willing to dismiss yet. As far as AAL, I am a huge Orbin fan, and his Dyed in Grey and Pete Peterson sessions are fantastic. I heard Orbin was in AAL now, but have not been able to confirm it. Is that the case?
Being 36, my tendency to listen to new forms of metal and get into new bands has severely curtailed for whatever reason. That was until I heard djent style music, first Chimp Spanner, who used to be on MX forums and a totally cool person that gave me some great advice on DAW's. But he led me to Periphery, which led to Textures, then Tesseract and Monuments. This song, is the shit. This band is fucking awesome, and is going to be the only album in my rotation for the foreseeable future.

@theSyringe I saw Meshuggah on tour with Tool a while back, and while I appreciated the skill, I found Meshuggah boring and repetitive, even though I have seen some jams they have done that are cool. It's why I liked textures, CS, and Tesseract. They have taken the djent sound from Meshuggah and tweaked it and diluted it (to be fair) and I like this stuff better. I come from old school stuff like Tool, DT, Rush, and O.S.I.. So Tess., CS, and others have adapted the Mesh, model and made it better

@rounder421 Okay man, I get what you are saying. Just telling you that if you take the time to get into Meshuggah you won't be disappointed, they're far from boring/repetitive. It may sound that way at first glance but you'll find out that there's little variations in their riff which make it unbelievably cool music :) They're the djent Godfathers!
