This excerpt from the sound engineer training program "The Sound Check Trainer" explains the basics of connecting a microphone snake (with 4 sends) to a mixing console for typical live sound use with a small to medium sound system. At the stage end of the snake, the sends will connect to the inputs of power amplifiers or other devices. Microphones will also be connected to the snake's stage box in order to carry their signals back to the mixing board.
