To anyone who is interested about MMA vs Chinese Boxing (aka Kung Fu), read Chinese Boxing Methods and Masters. There are full contact competitions in Asian countries like Taiwan. From what the author says, fights degenerate into fights throwing a lot of roundhouse punches. He also mentions their high pain tolerance. The Chinese also have their own grappling style called Chinna. It looks effective. Who would come out on top is not clear to me, as both can be effective.

Thank you for uploading such an awesome demonstration, definitely some great techniques :)

This one is actually the best choy lee fut sparring drills clip I've seen the others are kickboxing I've done and competed in kung fu and kickboxing for years I hate guys that claim to teach kung fu and only do kickboxing drills without telling students. To mix the 2 is the best option in my view

I'm glad to finally see a sifu that has proper form.. No.. in fact, good form with proper power. We need more sifus like these to post on youtube... instead of those "self-claimed" sifus out there...

@GuanKomudo lyoto machida doesn't fight sanshou!

The only word that I can think of to describe this fighting style, is legendary. Is it possible for anyone to learn this, and utilize it, especially for a self defense situation? Would it be effective? And if all I know is a few basics of karate, how would choy lay fut compare, or would it? I appreciate any help, thank you.

@MarmarAkaSeiryu that is true which i know, but i found out that jujitsu is just a section of ground fight that derived from kung fu.

That's true, but I think it's safe to say Jujitsu which is a key component of MMA is not a sport... If you wanted to, you could really kill someone...

Its amazing how people on here are claiming to be martial artist but dont act like one. its fine to debate but calling each other out over a disagreement is childish.
I wanna see more of these guys in MMA and stuff showing all these jerks that Kung fu is real, this looks like one of the few Kung fu styles that most the moves are actually alowed in MMA, I would love to see the Chinese version of Lyoto Machida in the ring kicking butt!
