check out tito puente : mambo gozan, mongo santamarie: azteca, la mogolla, la lupe: moontuneando, listen to any thing fania has to offer, tipico 73, ,,,,practice the parts slowly, remember to play the instrument, hit sofly, the drum will respond,

Check out a great great Tito Puente book called, "Drumming with the Mambo King" it comes with a audio CD, too. Also check Changuito's book, "A Master's approach to timbales" also with audio CD. Keep it up!!!!

In latin music, great timbaleros such as Tito Puente, Manny Oquendo, Oreste Vilato, Changuito, etc. In jazz, Art Blakely, Jimmy Cobb, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Connie Kay and others. in swing, Buddy Rich,, Gene Krupa, and others.
