Any recommendations for any programs that would rip dvd's onto your computer?

Try Magic DVD Ripper. It should give you a free 5-use trial, and each use (meaning loading the program and not closing it) lets you rip as many DVDs as you have time for. It's worked really well for me, so you might consider buying it after 5 uses if you're pleased enough.
