I agree with your thinking, but I also know that artists do care about perceptions of the public. A star isn't a star without public adoration to put him or her on a pedestal :) And you are right, he was and is a big star in Korea, so if the rest of the world forgets him, he may still be successful on his home turf.

In America, sure. However I doubt he cares at all what we think of him. He's from Korea and has been monumentally successful there so I'm sure that will continue.
