Himes believes that confiscatory tax rates do not crush economic growth. Subsidizing failure does not buy us more failure. Selling out allies does not leave us with weaker alliances. Coddling enemies does not embolden those enemies. Himes think that his good intentions will outweigh rational self-interest of participants in the marketplace and the explicit goals of our friends and enemies abroad. History, logic, and growing evidence indicate that his experiment is failing.
