I hope that most credit card companies won't charge the $30 to $90 fee if a consumer charges less than $2400 annually. Perhaps the new credit laws can be amended as the credit card companies find new ways to charge us fees for our accounts.

helltrackrider,
Are *you* a teacher's pet for the banks, too??
Talk to your neighbors. The behavior of the banks in the past few months is atrocious.
I won't use any sexual imagery because there's enough of that in YouTube comments already but rolling over and playing dead is not the answer.

It's very simple, close your accounts at all those banks that stole our money and destroyed the economy .. invest in your local bank or credit union!

Man you post a lot for a guy who can't get a credit card. :)
No reason why the gov can't pull some gouging legislation out to stop this.

Looks like your only saving grace for an inconvenient bank that won't open branches near you, even if it is a fucking rich-as-hell corporation that lots of people use, is Internet and online banking. Hell, if this were the 1980s, I'd be kind of fucked using Chase after I transferred colleges.
But at least I don't have to deal with shitty-ass Kroger back here in Missouri. God, that store sucks.

The funny thing is, I got my original chase account back in 2006 when I went to college in Columbus OH, but then when I transferred (Missouri resident) to Mizzou in Columbia, I couldn't find a single branch! Typing in mine or Columbia's zip code yields nothing within even a 50-mile radius. Or 30-mile, whatever the number is. What bullshit. Chase calls itself a big national bank that you can trust? I can get an account in Ohio but a few states to the east, I'm fucked?
Actually, my payments go in 2 weeks ahead of the due date online. They raised my APR arbitrarily. After looking it up online, apparently, Citi has done this to many of their customers. I have already opened up a new credit card after paying off my Citi card at a much lower interest rate to have for emergencies. I don't like being punished for the Citi's poor investment strategies.
