It is torture. The government was just saying it was not torture because that is what they do. If they wanted to get people to believe that there is no gravity, they would just say "There is no gravity, the reason why is you cant see gravity, so thus it isnt real" And people would believe it..,because people are stupid.
So when someone says "Omg, waterboarding isn't torture!" they are simply pointing out that they are stupid. Then they will argue with you, because they think they are right.

Bush and Cheney should be waterboarded.
This country is a joke.

Of course it's torture. That's why the Bush administration did it.
Like most people who get their ideas of interrogation from old movies or modern TV shows (24!) they think this is the way to get information. And look "tough" at the same time. Since the person getting tortured will say exactly what he think the torturer wants to hear, this is useless.
Real interrogators know that making a human connection with the subject, getting them to relax and make mistakes garners the real info.

@TheJboogie314 Oh, you mean like Glen Beck?

My impression is that you are a big wuss Mancow. I've had much worse things done to me and never whined about it.

He wasn't water-boarded.
His arms were not restrained. He was spoken to reassuringly: "I'm gonna put this over your face, okay?" He's with fellow citizens in a safe environment - not imprisoned by invaders. He stopped it at his will (5 seconds). He knows that an EMT is standing by to help him.
Check out when the "torturer" takes hold of the "victim's" nose (at around 2:00):
"Move down a little bit. You're squeezing the top of my nose!"
- and the "torturer" complies.
He wasn't water-boarded.

i dont even care about the torturing part itself.. torture people who you know are terrorists and willing to kill innocents all you want. but the problem comes with the "information" of the people being tortured, which basically becomes worthless. anybody would admit to anything you ask them to in order to make them stop, so even if you dont have anything against torture, you still should be against it as an interrogation method because it makes no sense and it will be abused.

@IYAMNI Totally agree with your points.

1st time I've seen a conservative radio host be honest despite saying something he didn't want to say.
Mancow's an ass. He raised money for a Chicago police officer who lost his legs... and NEVER gave him any of the money.

@toemasie
I tried searching google concerning your accusation. Nothing came up. Can u provide documentation for it?

The officer was an emergency-services volunteer who was directing traffic outside a basketball tournament in suburban Richton Park in December of 1994. He was struck from behind by a car and lost both of his legs. Muller did a benefit concert for him and he never saw any of the money. The man is my best friend's brother.
Ever since then, I've hated Mancow.

toemasie responded to me via private message shortly after our original comments. toemasie provided documentation that partially corroborated their story. The officer mentioned in the comment does exist, he lost his legs, & there was a benefit concert that mancow was involved with. Whether mancow gave him the money I don't know. But I have no doubt toemasie is friends with the officer's brother. I chose not to publish the name of the officer out of respect for him & his family.
