Why is this Dalek called Dalek Fred? Is it a reference to Harry Potter, because Fred Weasley got killed in Book 7? I don't understand it. A better nickname would be Dalek Chino, because that scene reminded more of West Side Story (when Tony gets shot as he reaches Maria).

It's just a random name for a random Dalek that finally figured out to just shoot The Doctor and not scream "EXTERMINATE!!!!!" first.
"Dalek Fred" is just like "Ensign Ricky" is the name given to nameless Red Shirts that die in Star Trek.
