I swear the Stone Dalek from "The Big Bang" was Dalek Fred's son. They both had the honour of simply shooting the Doctor and almost killing him.

Not sure if this phenomenon has its roots in Classic Who or not, but the first Dalek named Fred was named by Ian Chesterton (the Great) back with William Hartnell (The Chase, episode 2). I just like the idea that the 10th Doctor looked over his shoulder just then and thought, "Hey! I thought I left you in that hole on Aridius five hundred years ago! What're you--"
(BTW: Ian called it Fred, the Doctor called it Auntie.)
RIP Dalek Fred.
