http://www.pointblankonline.net/blog/festive-sound-design-tutorial-turn-santa... - Danny J Lewis gets in the festive mood in this tutorial where he creates a bumping house beat by using just 3 yuletide source sounds (and absolutely nothing else!) - a chime, sleigh bells, and of course Santa's unmistakable Ho Ho HOOO!

Want to have a go yourself? download the samples here: http://www.pointblankonline.net/blog/festive-sound-design-tutorial-turn-santa... ... and be sure to come back and show us how you got on with a link to your beats!

You can learn techniques such this and much more on the Ableton Live Sound Design course which launches in January 2012. Follow the link for the full course brochure: http://www.pointblankonline.net/ableton-live-sound-design.php

  • I've given this a shot. How shall I get it to you?

  • @DjNarda Nice one! You can post a link on the blog piece if you want (the first link in the description) or on our facebook page (facebook[dot]com[slash]pointblankcollege)

    look forward to hearing it!

  • @pointblankonline Posted! Have a listen, mate :)

  • @DjNarda Loving it! Nice job... have passed onto Danny to have a listen too. For all those who want to hear Narda's festive beat head to the comments below the blog post (linked in the description). Make sure you post up your efforts too.

    Merry Chrimbo!

  • I'm thinking about doing the Ableton course next year when I get some money. Do you regularly update the course and do you recommend this course for someone who is ok with Ableton?

Also I'm into hip hop production but I don't use logic does your course teach people how to produce other genres outside dance music?

  • @beatnik8tv which Ableton course specifically are you looking at? We cover a variety of styles on our courses depending on which you pick - some are specifically focused on one genre like the Pro Prodcucer Courses, some are more general and teach all sorts of genres. The best thing to do to find out more is to get in touch with our course advisor on +44(0)20 7729 4884 or luke[at]pointblanklondon[dot]com. He will be more than happy to help.

    Thanks

  • wow! this is fucking amazing. talk about endless possibilities

  • Mad proppa sampling right here

  • just HAD to check this out....amazing! Whats more amazing is the endless possibilities with other eccentric sounds :).

  • I must also say that this is truly creative and amazing. Very cool!

  • It's like in another tuto i have where you learn to create an entire drumkit from your sampled voice, in fact you can do so much things with just a few samples, even in poor quality ^^
