This award-winning documentary charts the extraordinary and inspirational story of mysterious 1970s musician Rodriguez.

In the late '60s, a musician was discovered in a Detroit bar by two celebrated producers who were struck by his soulful melodies and prophetic lyrics. They recorded an album that they believed was going to secure his reputation as one of the greatest recording artists of his generation. In fact, the album bombed and the singer disappeared into obscurity amid rumors of a gruesome on-stage suicide. But a bootleg recording found its way into apartheid South Africa and, over the next two decades, it became a phenomenon. Two South African fans then set out to find out what really happened to their hero. Their investigation led them to a story more extraordinary than any of the existing myths about the artist known as Rodriguez. This is a film about hope, inspiration and the resonating power of music.

I'm South African and I had never heard this guys name until last week when I watched "Searching for Sugarman" The weird thing was that I knew all the songs, I then discovered that my parents played his music all the way through my childhood, to my surprise. Rodriguez has been in the dark for way too long, I'm glad his music is finally being recognized for every cent it's worth!

The thing with Rodriguez is you hear it once and it sticks. You never tire of his songs. They speak to you and relax you and they tell you the truth. He is the real deal; the true artist; the poet and he has found his true place in music history as one of the greats.

The educational system and academic performance of the school kids are now ranked the 2nd worst in the world - just behind Yemen. So imagine this: the black adult men having sexual relations with schools girls - millions of them. Many black men having 8 kids on average. 8! So the culture of the Afrikaner...
