Disney's 1977 The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh may be the last word on (animated) Pooh because it so faithfully honors the first word on Pooh, penned in the 1920s by British storyteller A.A. Milne. Gently paced, subtly humorous, and blessedly understated, this adaptation reflects Walt Disney's original vision to develop the beloved British bear for a wider audience. The film is essentially a collection of the original Pooh shorts, "The Honey Tree," "The Blustery Day," and "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too." These storybooks are presented in seamless "chapters," narrated by the timeless Sebastian Cabot. The familiar musical score and original voices of Sterling Holloway as Pooh, and Paul Winchell as Tigger, cap this enchanting keepsake.

  • Eeyore was always my favorite; he was the best, even with his little broken, bow-tie tail:)

  • I actually think it's unmanly to deny liking Winnie the pooh. Because, then you are denying a large portion of your childhood. And when you deny your childhood, it's almost like saying that you learned nothing from it.

  • Wow this was my very first cartoon more than 10 years ago......and I saw it for the first time again today.

  • Balloon, Y U FAIL THE ALMIGHTY POOH-BEAR!

  • When I saw this as a child, a lot of the humour went over my head. I remember the songs and the slapstick comedy, but now I can enjoy it even more. I now appreciate the humour in Pooh being a mooch and Rabbit having to act polite about it. I smiled as Gopher cleverly avoided giving Owl a clear estimate for the cost of labour.

It's good when children's shows that try to keep the adults interested as well. This movie did a great job with that.

  • Oh My Gosh! I've missed Gopher! XD "Dash-It-All, He IS the project!" XD So Funny!
