Steve Irwin was different. Society has always had a hard time dealing with something that different. I honestly believe that he had everything under control. Its his family tradition. We have traditions in my family that people would badly of also.

I have nothing against Steve Irwin but when he did this the media practically gave him a pass compared to Michael Jackson. The media practically lynched the latter person and to this date almost all baby-dangling jokes are about Jackson while most people seem to have forgotten this episode with Irwin. Though I remember when the media did talk about this for a bit they albeit accused Irwin of being a murderer.

R.I.P. to both of them and fuck the media.

Irwin should have had the stupid smacked right out of him. And no, he did NOT "have everything under control." The only variable he can control is himself. The croc is another matter.

Furthermore the number of times he's been injured by animals and the manner in which he died is conclusive proof that he is not a reliable indicator of what an animal will do.

croc would eaten his arm before it would have been interested in the baby and you know what i think that he wasnt wrong to do so - not saying that others should do it at all, he was a pro - but if the child is to grow up in an environment filled with animals like crocs, snakes or anything else, the soon they are exposed the sooner they begin to learn the dos and donts as well as becoming more comfortable and capable in those situations and around those animals. Just saying media hypes everything

@soso694 Unexpected things can happen. People who take risks must be willing to take the consequences, so from a moral standpoint he was willing to take the risk that something bad could happen to the baby. A rock climber can climb for his entire life, and then take a risk on climbing the White Spider without gloves and end up getting killed - he knows a lot, but that doesn't justify the risk, or the loss to others.
