Amazona farinosa eating soil along the Rio Manu in southeastern Peru. Notice how white these birds are compared to other Mealy Amazons from Central America - these guys really earn their names, looking like someone dumped a handful of flour on them (thus farinosa or mealy).
We've had the great luck to have years of co-existence with a couple different Mealies. They make FABULOUS pets. The ones we had didn't talk at all, but that's not why I took them in in the first place.
