Watch my speed run, it's done now. You can use Inferno + Dodo for 6 damage once you open the eye.

true, but unfortunately Inferno + Chilly is the only combo that damages Spirit Energy.

Inferno + Chilly only does 4 damage per throw. Try Inferno + Moa or Inferno + Dodo for more damage (I'm currently doing a speed run of this game, but I haven't reached the part where you get either bird, so I haven't tested it yet.)
