Tess has been abandoned and abused by everyone in her life. Her mother and father, Lionel forced her mother to give her up. He didn't care about her, never gave her a second thought. Just left her with Granny Goodness, who also abused Tess. Then he set her up to be adopted by abusive people. She finally escapes them and is off studying marine biology where she then watches her classmates and professors get murdered and is then held captive by violent men. She watches her best friend get murdered right in front of her.

Oliver saves her. He's the only man in her life to not hurt her, and she loved him so much. And then he cheats on her and breaks her heart. Once again proving to her everyone will hurt you.

So she gets recruited by Lex to study under him. He mentors her, all the while just using her as a back-up should he ever need her. She thought maybe Lex was different. He wanted to save the world like her, he was helping her live her dream. She followed him with blind admiration. Only to learn what he had done to her, how he had used her from the beginning.

Then there's Zod. She thought he was going to be earths savior when she set him free from the orb. Instead he and his men held her captive in her own home and beat her. Then he used her to push his plans through, and when she betrayed him he burned her face off ultimately killing her.

Clark, Superman, the symbol of all thats supposed to be good in the world. The one man Tess believes in, no matter what he does to her. He goes around hanging her off of buildings, throwing her around like a rag doll, pushing her to the floor. Hurting her without batting an eye. What does this tell Tess? That even good men will hurt you, and you deserve it.

Let's not forget Lionel. Sure he left all the damaging scars of abandoning her, but then he comes back and makes it clear she never meant anything to him. Tries to convince her, because his twisted mind has convinced himself, that Lex is all he cares about. He straps her to a table, where she cries for him to let her go, and he tells her he has no problems killing her for Lex. Her father. No matter how fucked up he is, he's still her father.

Then the ultimate betrayal. The writers have to have Clone!Lex murder her. She loved Lex long before she knew he was her brother, he was her mentor. Despite everything he did to her we see she still cared about him in the way she cared for Alexander. She wanted to save him, to have the brother she never got to have. And then she gets to watch the face of her brother murder her. FUCK YOU WRITERS JUST FUCK YOU OK!!

Even after all the pain and abuse she goes through she still manages to end up one of the heroes.

"I grew up" that line is always so tragic! She's tried to harden herself. She's managed with the exterior. But inside she's still that same girl. She's just scared of letting herself be vulnerable! Poor thing! Damn when it got to the fortress scene where Zod burns her...I had chills! It was so intense! The way she said "LAST chance" aaaww!!! OMG...the finale death...OMG...WHY?! I hate you Smallville!

This video was heartbreaking. The way you showed the abuse she experienced was just so powerful! The voice overs were amazing & got me so emotional! 0:11 with Zod. Just seeing her broken & battered face...that was so hard! Gah! Ugh 0:27 seconds!!! *cries* it's really difficult seeing Clark abusing her. I mean, it's Clark for Christ's sake! He's supposed to be the one to save her! :/ Aaaww Tollie! Another example of someone who was supposed to help save her!! Waaah

Wow!!! I'm kind of stunned right now Katie! This was gorgeous & so painful. I really understand the feelings you were experiencing while making it. Tess was abused by everyone & yet she survived it. Hell, she kept coming back from the dead literally! lol it's in that where she found her strength. I know you can relate to her overcoming that kind of pain & loneliness! It makes me so proud of you because you're a fighter just like her!
