Poor installation techniques are the number one reason for bad soil moisture sensor data sets. This installation video was made in a local research farm to show you a few methods that we use to properly install soil moisture sensors. Five 5TE (soil moisture, temperature, and EC) sensors were installed at each of 40 locations at depths of one, two, three, four, and five feet using a sidewall installation technique and a downhole installation technique. The video also shows how we make our homemade istallation tool.
