FREESPACE - THE MOVIE (opening titles)

A movie that I've made using footage from the Freespace games in an imaginary opening titles for a big screen adaptation. This is roughly how I would do it. Hope that you will enjoy it.

I do not understand these hollywood guys. They go and make spiderman 1,2,3,4,5,...23. They lack good scripts and inspiration and they insist on good but old recipes, when the best movie scripts are under their very noses. Check the freespace game for example, top notch script,excellent background history, conspiracy theories, action, betrayal, unity... everything. I think hollywood now lacks the very thing that made them wolrd player: investment on something new...

This trailer is almost perfect. It disgusts me that movies with real stories and philosophical issues don't get made, but stupid crap like Spiderman 3 does. I mean, Freespace laid the groundwork for something that could be a Babylon 5-level story.

Screw Hollywood.

That's the eye in the beginning of Blade Runner isn't it? I think it was overused a bit, but it worked really well initially.

not bad. a few things could have been done better though.

1. the 'eye' was overused a bit

2. some of the words appearing could have been structured so that you dont have to have been a fan of the game to actually understand enough so you dont read it and say to your self 'wtf does that mean'

3. when the title came up it probably could have been done in colour - but i understand if you didnt want to spend forever making it colour becasue i think it was originally B&W.

Awesome...simply....AWESOME! You did a great job...with just the right amount of that "haunting" feeling that FreeSpace has. A shame no movie really will be made. If only things like this could be released to the fans to do...ie In the Pirkinning was a nice (though space combat only with a liberal dash of comedy) and good example of what fans can accomplish. Even that one (whose name escapes me atm) that was fan made to tie in The Hobbit to LOTR was fan made....

I know where the music comes from Alien 3 I believe, but it adds to the depth of fear and horror when I watched the Clip. Well done in putting it together. My husband loves this game and is sadden he is now unable to paly it due to the new computers. I wish the would redo Freespace.
