There is a mysterious island off the coast of New England, so rich in history yet so little known. It was here that in 1639, the first English colonist came to New York State and began a dynasty involved in many critical moments of American history. Gardiners Island has remained in his family name for over 350 years, frozen in a time of pre-colonial wilderness.

Lion Gardiner is my great grandfather straight back. My grandmother's mother is in the book of descendants of Lion Gardiner.
