i sped up the first idea to approx 120 bpm and it sounds cool to me. i slightly altered the second run through the chorus by just suspending the thirds of the first two chorus chords (on the b string) which sounds sweet but isn't intrinsic to the chords

the second idea is more inspired by a ryuichi sakamoto style vibe.

The second one is more mature song writting. It also reminds me of that out cast character rivers was mentioning. I especially like the Major to Minor drop right about 1:25 in. The first one is almost too predictable (is that the word i'm looking for?) You rock though!
