I think Ethan Hawke is the best Hamlet.. No offence to Kenneth Branagh and others!!

Kenneth Brannagh was a good Hamlet, but he committed the cardinal sin that so many directors/producers/actors whatever commit when they touch that role: HE WAS TOO DAMN OLD!!!! Hamlet is supposed to be a young guy, not some gray haired old man although he's always portrayed that way...one of those little things that drives me berserk!

@dontlayeggs Agree. I have seen many versions of Hamlet (Olivier, Branagh, Kline, Scott, Jacoby, Williamson, Burton, a Hamlet from Russia and "Prince of Jutland"), this is the version I like more. Hawke is fantastic, the adptation of the text is very good, I love the montage and the music, the actors are young. The only thing I complain is that they should have delete the "my lord" stuff, especially by Hamlet's friends, it sounds so out of place with their modern looks and style.

Lot of people think that this is bad version , I think it's the best. Quess it's just the matter of taste. Some of us like strawberry some of us peppermint flavoured tea. This version is my cup of tea :)
