A feedback loop, also referred to as a "positive feedback mechanism" or "cumulative causation", in a system (such as global biospheric system - ecosystem) is one in which change processes accelerate by feeding into each other, rather than canceling each other out: the system "responds to perturbation in the same direction as the perturbation.[Wikipedia] "

Ocean acidification, global surface temperature, sea level, and corresponding food and water shortages are all on the rise because all are mutually causal.

A mass extinction event is occurring, wherein an avg of 50,000 species per year are going extinct. The Human race also faces peril.

Thanks to coal, oil, and the industrial revolution. Cheers.

for a good quick low-down on what this means, read: http://www.well.com/~davidu/sixthextinction.html

includes NASA satellite photos and current model projections, and the sound bytes of James Hansen, Paul Ehrlich, Janine Benyus, Peter Annan, Jimmy Carter, Gustave Speth, Jim Lehrer, and other climatologists/ scientists/ environmental policy advocates. -----

  • cool video, but i bet you what you want at 2013 there will still be ice in the artic

  • @criticatorxxx There may be ice there in the winter (it wont be perennial ice) but in the summer when the ice typically recedes it may be gone. we'll see. people like to talk about how the ice is making a comeback, but it's not true because while it may cover a wide distance, it's much thinner now.

  • Scientists threatened for 'climate denial'

    By Tom Harper

Scientists who questioned mankind's impact on climate change have received death threats and claim to have been shunned by the scientific community.

They say the debate on global warming has been "hijacked" by a powerful alliance of politicians, scientists and environmentalists who have stifled all questioning about the true environmental impact of carbon dioxide emissions

Carbon Trading, Carbon Taxes, government (taxpayer) subsidies

  • @Dayversion

    From the same article:

Few listen, even though I have a Ph.D, (Doctor of Science) from the University of London, England and was a climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg. For some reason (actually for many), the World is not listening. Here is why.

Here is how the University of Winnipeg remembers him -

(In honour of Dr. Tim Ball) Geography Teacher (Book Prize )

So who's lying - the geography teacher or the Institution?

  • Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts

    Dr. Timothy Ball

Global Warming, as we think we know it, doesn't exist. And I am not the only one trying to make people open up their eyes and see the truth. But few listen, despite the fact that I was one of the first Canadian Ph.Ds. in Climatology and I have an extensive background in climatology, especially the reconstruction of past climates and the impact of climate change on human history and the human condition.

  • perhaps the earths tilt is moving and so are the caps eventually, which direction is what I would like to know?

  • we needed to have done something by 2005. all we need to do while we have the time and resources is damage mitigation

  • good videos man!

  • I can see agent Smith walking up to Morpheus. He touches his forehead, smells the sweat and says: 'Do you know I've made a startling revelation about the human race. Those whose believe the truth of AGW are nice, amiable, intelligent people. But the rest ARE BRAINDEAD, REMEDIAL TROLLS WITH THE ATTENTION SPAN OF AN ALZHEIMER INFLICTED CHEESE.'

  • Freeze the frame at 1:04 and study it.

    Great video, Steve.
