@alifaraz12345 That's why defragmenting is important... your arm doesn't have to search all over the place for your files if they are all close to the edge (or the center? I forget). This won't be important once SSD replaces these though in the future. Right now SSD is stupid expensive.

taofledermaus, I'm using (and citing) this video in a powerpoint presentation. Does 600 fps mean the slow mo is 200 times slower than the 30fps? Is the drive searching over the entire platter for requested data? Details about exactly what the drive is doing would help. Thanks alot.

@MoonEl If you would like the original video for your presentation I can yousendit to you if you like. (pm me) The HD is not attached to a computer and is just doing a power-up cycle- a self-test, if that is the correct term. At 600 fps, it is 20 times slower than 30 fps (20 seconds of video= 1 second of real time)
