very good

its not a fighting art. in the history of man there has never been a martial art that involes sp/inning a staff as the bass
-
keep up the practice - peace and love bro

@bowerybaker actually staff spinning like this person does was developed from martial arts backgrounds. So sounds too me like Martial Arts makes it into European Fair Attraction

aside from entertainment value, the fighting value of this would be....?

well, he might be able to work this out so he has a flaming staff orbiting him at all times when he fights, that would be bad ass, would probably scare away grapplers . . . im gonna start practicing now. jk
awesome display of balance and coordination though. good job.

Lol that would be awesome, but no it is much too finely balanced to have an actual combat application. However any trouble I've had at gigs has backed off when I started swinging it, staff is heavy and solid and the ends are thick and yeah the fire helps too!

In wing tsun we develop sensitivty in our arms to feel through contact where the opponent is moving so as to avoid being hit. Contact staff is also based on feeling and many other of the ideas we use in our chi sau training. For example you cant force the staff with you shoulder or neck but you can guide or redirect it.
