Look how flat this land is! I was born nearby, in Hugoton Kansas. I am still amazed at how flat it is. I live in California now, thankfully.

When did i say there needed to be a tornado for there to be hail? My comment was just a MUCH less detailed version of yours.

Don't comment if you don't know what you are saying. Hail is caused by rain drops that are falling into the updraft of a storm where they're picked up and carried into the stratosphere where they freeze and take on more water as they fall and recycle through the updraft and get coated with another layer of ice. Once they are too heavy for the updraft to support they fall to the ground. A storm doesn't need to be tornadic to produce large hail, it just requires dynamic lift.
