Everyone all over the internet is saying that The PlayStation Move is a rip off of the Wii but sony has been doing Motion control since 2000 with the EyeToy and has a patent on the Playstation Move since 2004 .

  • The power glove, by MATTEL.

  • @BiggMykeXeroII Le Stick

  • Imma gonna have to correct u on this. Nintendo didn't start the fire. Nor did Sony. (Cookie if you already know what I'm gonna say.) In 1999, SEGA had motion control capabilities for their Dreamcast on Soul Calibur, Virtua Tennis and (I think) SEGA Bass Fishing. So there you have it. I feel like a History Teacher who just told his class that Hitler was Austrian :P

  • @PrrrromotionGiven it goes way back to the 80's & maybe before that with Le Stick & some other motion controls

  • wii didn't start the first, but nintendo did. look up the power glove, the u-force, gameboy camera. etc.

  • @kradrol no Le Stick was 1st

  • The patent at 0:12 is not for a wand with motion sensors and buttons (a patent for such a device was filed in October 2008), but for a light at the end of a wand instead of a ball. Why? Because changing lighting conditions made it difficult to track the coloured balls shown in other demos (and briefly here). A light overcomes that problem, hence the patent. So yes it's used in Move, as well as ball tracking, but Sony didn't have a motion sensing wand (not even a prototype) unti AFTER the Wii.

  • @xxmanuelvaldesxx Console Wars are stupid. Why can't you just choose a console and HAVE FUN?! Isn't that what gaming is about?

  • wait, this isnt a early version of move. its an early version of EYE TOY. if any of you would remember, there was a game awfully similur to the one shown for eye toy. you would get a stick/wand thing and wave it in front of the eye toy camera and it would show it on screen. this is not new technology.

  • @nightmarechs79 This!

  • you ps fans claim Le stick was first before nintendo..... but i mean.... le stick was an atari product! THIS IS NINTENDO VS SONY! dont get atari into this fight to back up your arguments because it wont help defending sony.... anyway why cant you let us enjoy our consle? we only rant about Ps3 because you guys bash us. I say video games should be a thing to enjoy and not to fight about gees

  • Yes and game boy had motion control to cough cough 'kirby tilt n tumble'cough cough released in 1998.

Let's not forget all those other devices used for motion gaming as well all created before eyetoy.

  • @PrrrromotionGiven Hah, yeah, I did. Just thought it's be something quirky to say, didn't really expect you to respond haha.

  • @AgniKai343 Yes, didn't you know that?

  • @PrrrromotionGiven Hitler was Austrian... 0.o

  • Hey an Idea like this Star trek or Doctor who probally came up with it first but anyway motion control sucks
