MEET MAI TAI....and she is a fancy drink that will lift your spirits as fast as you can say "umbrella!" MaiTai is a sable, 10 lb, 2 yr old Shih Tzu...who nobody paid any attention to in the shelter! Mis ID'd as a Lhasa Apso, who could tell -- she was so matted you could not see her face! We fell in love with her and bailed her out and as we looked at her face, we noticed she only had one eye! No biggie....she sees great out of the other one! We're not sure if she was injured or if this is congenital...the eye is there but shrunken...our vet said to leave it alone, she is in no pain. What MaiTai is -- is love. She will kiss you until your face is raw. In true Shih Tzu form, she is loving, happy, playful and pretty easy going. She is not a yapper or barker...and she is doning a very short haircut because she was also just matted to the bone! MaiTai uses the pee pads, but we can't guarantee she is potty trained. She is also totally emaciated and we want to fatten her up a little before we make her available. This little girl just wants to please you and be your baby....she has no issues that we've been able to uncover....and when her hair grows a little more, you won't even be able to tell she only has one eye. Gives her character! She is a great little walker....rides terrific in the car and will be a wonderful companion. As long as you don't leave her alone all day, she could be an only dog...but she does love to cuddle with her roommate, Misha. She only arrived this week, so she will not be available until February 21. No kids under 8 yrs old, please...although we do think she will be fine with children, dogs and maybe even cats!
