Firing my new S&W 686+ .357 Magnum (6")

My first time firing my new gun! I was firing .38 Specials instead of .357 Magnums for the first round, but fired off some .357s later on.

thanks! i prefer firing double action due to the smooth (though, firm) trigger pull. Also, in a self-defence situation (though I hope I'm never in one) I'm not gonna have the time to pull the hammer back between every shot. Better to be used to firing double-action. Thanks again for your comment.

Still, it flies in the face of common sense. Criminals don't buy guns from the legal sources anyway because their easier to trace, so we'd only be making the victim more defenseless if we outlawed handguns. Oh well, i'm not out to fight for gun rights. There are more important things to get up-in-arms about in our world today. Things like poverty and greed, lack of compassion for the poor, hurting children, persecution, etc.

What state is this in? That's a beautiful place man, I'd love to go shooting outdoors in a place like that. I love a serene place to shoot, it's like meditation of sorts ;) We have to go a couple hours to get to a desert to shoot out here..

We're living in a country of workplace and school rampages, gang violence, and an unstable southern border and this isn't the "Old West?" This argument has never been persuasive to me.

You cannot carry a rifle around town with you in any practical manner. The bad guys will still have handguns. The major threats to ones safety will be from people carrying concealed handguns. With millions out there, its not like you can snap your fingers and make them go away.

Common sense would sound more like, "less handguns; less handgun violence." If the laws did not already deter those that would acquire and sell guns illegally, then the argument for outlawing handguns would have no merit. The Law is what has teeth, not the opposing gunslinger. We're not living in the Old West. The legality of handguns creates the industry which pumps large quantities of guns into our society and these find their way to desparate people who commit crimes of passion. Get a rifle.
