  • You are so right. Dancing, which used to be a part of everyday life for human beings for nearly their entire existence has been relegated to humping people's legs in clubs.

So few people know how to do any kind of dancing, that the very few who do, can charge $50 an hour. It's absurd.

We need community dance centers where people can learn, practice, and have fun. We need to put dancing back in it's proper place.

  • if you look up local swing dancing online, i'm sure you can find a place. thats how i found a place for $10 for 5 hours. i think thats a really good price. each week, they teach a new step for an hour along with some basic steps and then the rest of the time is to just practice it and try some of your own stuff. its a lot of fun. look it up.

I'm in one of those clubs! Just joined a few months ago and I can't get enough of it!

I disagree with you because although swing (read: real) dancing is a great thing (I love lindy hop and dance very frequently), it's one of those things where I wouldn't want it to become mainstream because that itself would ruin it. Part of what makes it so cool when you know how to dance is the fact that it's so rare now.

I just feel like you're making excuses for not knowing how to dance for real yourself. Times do change but you can't argue that grinding is the same as dancing.

  • e but that would also be so funny to do the full "The Lyndy Hop - Hellzapoppin" moves in a club................. would suprise some present streetdancers some of the moves that they did back then ...(thats if it didnt knock out everyone in the Night Club lol)

HARD CORE TILL I DIE ... but repect for the mooves man ! my kid is now learning this at school.
