  • @ 2:00 the girl said, "We're historically told not to be proud being Chinese". That's bull. There are so many reasons to love your Chinese culture. If you want to learn Chinese, go to the link in my profile.

  • Please read my response to BobbytheCanadiankid. The video's intent is to raise awareness of Chinese-Canadian identity, which also means understanding and discussing the complexity of the Chinese-Canadian experience.

  • Hey , I am a Chinese Canadian guy , but I am not like him in that video !

  • The video is not intended to promote a pan-Chinese-Canadian identity, nor is it trying to say that all Chinese-Canadians are the same in the way that they handle racism, linguistic challenges, fitting in, or trying to participate in two cultures. The aim of the video is to spark discussion and thinking about Chinese-Canadian identity and stereotypes.

  • hey good start...could turn into a documentary one day.

But get more females too..but also, more guys. But like it so far where its going. ^_^

  • Thank you, we appreciate your feedback! We are planning on doing more videos, so please stay tuned.

  • Canada/America are nations of immigrants. With exception to aboriginal groups, we all come from Europe, Africa, or Asia. The policy of new world countries is anyone can be a citizen regardless of ethnic origin.

A white guy RAISED in Asia, IMHO can be considered an Asian with European origins since he would reflect the values of the culture he was brought up in.

Any other difference would be merely superficial.

  • if your chinese, you are chinese

fuck ppl who say they aren't asian.

    FUCK YOU!!!~~~

    i love being asian.

  • Why do you need to be "encouraged" to learn Chinese? shouldn't you be proud of your heritage and learn it anyways? calligraphy looks awesome!!

  • ohh now... i dont want canada to become chinese.

  • you've giving the human kind too much credit. no matter what you will see race before nationality. it's just natural. it's the way it always was, and forever will it be.

  • can you call a white guy who was born in china/korea/taiwan a chinese/korean/japanese?? The same thing applies

  • The term Chinese Canadian, or any hyphenated nationality needs to disappear. We're just Canadian, end of story. Once we start seeing ourselves as being just like everyone else, then everyone else will see it too.

And nobody will be "gravitating towards people who look like you." That comment by that guy really irked me.

  • Hair1, i like chinese hair!

  • 5/5

  • Being Chinese Canadian( CBC ) is better than being a Chinese American ( ABC ) ! I used to live in Los Angeles , USA but I was born in Vancouver, BC !
