  • awesome old school animation

  • Love how this takes so much from the stlye of Fleischer's "Minnie the Moocher" cartoon...even the recreation of Cab Calloway dancing in front of the orchestra near the beginning...absolutely fantastic!

  • The song is great and the cartoon is made very amorevolous!

The best part of the cartoon is the apruptly abstruse happening with the suitcase and the dog.

THIS is, what I call a felicitous cartoon!

  • MASH THE REPLAY!!

I was disappionted to see that this is from 1999. A lot has changed in the past 13 years----good luck having something made this well today. People insist on using those stale Flash shortcuts to do everything, even if it creates that ugly mechanical look. (Not all Flash has that look----Superjail is very organic-looking----but a lot of it does). Even stuff that's not done in Flash is composited digitally, and if it's not done with care, the results look very sterile and stiff.

  • I cannot believe how spot-on this homage is. They got EVERYTHING right. Down to the last detail of the way the 1930s Fleischer animation really felt.

Compare this to that recent Popeye video from Wilco, which is very lame and halfhearted by comparison. It doesn't achieve anywhere near the vintage feeling this does.

And you know why? Partly because it insists on leaning on computer inking, which gives it a cold, mechanical texture. Also because the animation itself is nowhere near as good.

  • Remind me os She-ra - Princess of Power

  • who is the singer? reminds me a lot gogol bordello.

  • @devimon5000 Yep. :) Talos rocks! XD Black Ace makes my blood run cold and my heart swoon~ <3 Those rhymes make a chill go up my spine!

  • @yukikoyuma Karl is awesome, but I prefer Black Ace :3 Didn't expect to see another Talos fan around these parts :D
