My daughter and son-in-law live in Alaska at Fort Wainwright. My son in law is a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He is now serving his country in Iraq. My daughter and granddaughter live in military housing at Fort Wainwright on 599th street. My daughters home is full of mold. Everyday more and more mold keep appearing in her home. It is in her basement almost covering one wall. It has spread to the first and second floor of her home. She has gone to housing authority for help, but to no avail.
One person is saying that it is mildew and to clean it with bleach. One woman from housing is sympathetic, but cannot get results from her supervisor. When they moved in three years ago they had to sign a waiver because the house has lead paint and asbestos in it. Lead paint, asbestos, & mold!
My daughter and granddaughter are having health issues now. My granddaughter is having breathing problems and is ill often. My daughter who has been healthy all her life is suffering from severe headaches and generally feels unwell.
Why is it that the U.S. government can send our children off to risk their lives and spend billions and billions of dollars on wars in other countries but cannot take care of their families at home?
No on serving in our military or their families should have to live under these conditions. All military housing should be inspected and up to code!
I am disgusted and disappointed in our government that they are unaware and uncaring about our own citizens right here in the USA!
Does my daughter have to file a class action to get anything done?
Not only do I have to worry everyday about my son in law in Iraq and my own son whom is also serving in Iraq in the Army, but I have to worry about the lives of my daughter and granddaughter at home in the USA.

Their next excuse was "We forgot to have someone come out to turn off the heat in the summer." My response I can't understand nor believe that due to the fact non of my friends/neighbors had theirs turned of and they are not having this issue. Next excuse "It's static, it happens in all house's the dust just clings to the walls..." and etc.etc. We really need to get some back up on this! I feel that just because we live in Alaska and so far away they can get away with so much up here.

I live on 600th street. I am having the same issue. Right now its spores all over my house sticking to everything including my cook-wear. My shower and toilet looks like some dumped suit in it. My carpet is even clining it up around the edges of the wall, door frames and door bases. North Haven (Housing) has done nothing but make excuses for it. The excuses consist of and I quote..."You burn to many candles, so there is suit." My response well I burn 4 candles a month, only in the kitchen...
