I have owned this kfx for two years now and have never had any problems with it untill yesterday, i was riding it pretty hard and it stalled on me twice, after messing with the accelerating lever that it has on the bottom left side, i was able to start it up again, i dont know why the bike would stall if the idle was just right before, another thing that i have noticed is that when the bike is on neutral and i rev it up all the way real fast, there is a sound that comes from the head like a metal clinking but only if i rev it all the way real fast and there is only one clink, maybe because the the gas opens up all the way too fast, but i dont know, if i do it regular it sounds ok, please give some advice, thanks

  • Valves, tires. fi you dont get it fixed you'll have to replace the whole top end. very expensive.

  • Chek the battery that may help and get new tires

  • @calitvscreen its idling low

  • Also check your radiators yo might need to had fluid or change the fluid or get new radiators those have alot to do with the bike

  • Idle / pilot circuit in the carb are clogged. The way to fix it properly is to remove the carburetor, dismantle it and clean it. You'll need Carb cleaner and an air compressor. This is typical due to dirt in the carburetor. Plenty of information on online forums for step by steps.

PS: buy a Dyno Jet kit, will pep up your 400.

  • God Dang, how bout start with some new tires there bud!?

  • ............ Using that switch lets you access that last little bit in the tank and it should be switched back to normal once you fill it up.

and the reason it takes so long to get the bike started is due to because it ran out of fuel and when you tryed to start it again it had to get the fuel from the tank all the way to the engine. It took me about 3-5mins to get the bike started. playing around with the switch a lot probs didnt help

    hope this helped ya.

  • Hey mate I own an ltz 400 (which is exactly the same bike just different with different brandings on it)

That little knob you are playing around with is the fuel supply switch. The switch allows you to change from main tank (top 90%ish of the tank) to axillary (bottem 10%).

It happened to me when I first started riding mine. The reason it stalls at high rev's / speeds is becasue the engine is trying to take in so much fuel and you probable have any empty tank...............continued

  • Get new valves put in had the same problem with mine I had to get new valves and have them reseated
