2 reps at 285. NEW PR! Yes, I know I could get lower under the bar and I should do it off the ground, but I'm a football player (Linebacker) not an Olympic Lifter. I operate out of a 2-point stance and I clean to improve triple extension force, not technical efficiency. Also, I AM working on O Lifter style cleans just to be more well-rounded. And before I get more comments from haters, answer 1 questions first, "can you even get 285 off the ground?"

  • Thanks Speedy27920! It was a solid 10 years of work for me. Just get at it and stick to it!

  • Yes, but it should be taken into consideration whether or not a person with no ability to do something is nit-picking or hating, but can support their position with all theory they got from a probably outdated book and 0 practice.

  • legit bro

  • Thanks dude!

  • Chet, your metric system confuses most people, but I get the point.

  • wow. thats insane. makes me want to get good at lifting haha

  • whether people can or cannot get 285 off the ground, theyre opinion is valid if they know what they are talking about

  • Who said anything about a bar.

    Average in his bodyweight.

  • sorry but that bar with weight is 285 not 507

  • It's more than 285, it's 285 x 2 = 507lbs.

That is what he pulled off the ground and up 85% of his height. So we aren't even adding in speed which adds weight as you pull it.

His weight is 229, he used about 20% of knee bending to get it up. .20 x 229 is = 45.80lbs, 229 - 45.80 = 184.80 or about the full bodyweight of a 5'11" American male athlete.

The total? 691.80lbs, or 507lbs + 184.80lbs in about 19 seconds is what this man pulled.

Conclusion? The guy is raw power.
