Of course i went a little overkill on everything, i like to plan for the future. You could probably half the price of everything if you didn't want to mirror both sides of your shop the way i did. (I used a sears pro 6.5hp 20 gallon shop vac $120, sears pro 3/8" regulator and filter combo $39.99 a piece). I searched high and low, harbor freight had a cheapy air reg/filter 29.99 setup and for $10 more bucks these craftsman units are much higher quality so i went with those.

The vacuum upgrade was the cheapest, probably $100 bucks (without vacuum). The copper airline system (without hoses and regulators) is probably around $250. The electrical i splurged and went with quad outlets, all 20 amp receptacle rather then 15 amps ones, 20 amp breakers, 125amp sub panel, all 12 gauge romex wire in hard conduit instead of 14 gauge wire, 60 amp 240V breaker for welder, 20 amp 240V breaker for compressor, 1/0 aluminum to actually supply the power to the sub panel, around $375?

you might want cover the outlets or put inserts in them,, when you cut chips on cnc they can get in and short... had it hppen to me..

Very nice! Aside from your time, what did these upgrades cost? I'm considering similar in my "shop."

@amaedesign Cheap if you do it yourself. If i can remember correctly, $150 for air, $250 for power, $50 for vacuum. Not to much if your thrifty.
