Στα πίσω χρόνια τα πικρά
οπού φωτιά δεν είχε
ο κόσμος στις βαθιές σπηλιές
τ' αλέτρι δεν κατείχε.

Μα μιάν αυγή, μια Κυριακή
μια 'πίσημον ημέρα
γεμίσανε τα φυσερά
λυτρωτικόν αέρα.

Κατέβηκεν ο Γίγαντας
μ' ένα δαδί στο χέρι
έριξε φώτα στις σπηλιές
και χάρηκε τ' ασκέρι.

Πήραν φωτιά τα σύδεντρα
τα σίδερα ελυγίσαν
η γης οργώθηκε καλά
και τα φυτά εκαρπίσαν.

Πρωί πρωί τον πιάσανε
το γίγαντα και πάνε
στον Καύκασο ξημέρωνε
τρία πουλιά περνάνε.

Πουλιά μου διαβατάρικα
τι βλέπετε στις στράτες,
τι κουβαλάει ο γίγαντας
στις σιδερένιες πλάτες;

Μπροστά πηγαίνει ο σιδεράς
με το σφυρί στο χέρι,
ξωπίσω του ο κλειδαράς
της μοναξιάς του ταίρι.

Ο πιο μικρός ο πιο σκυφτός
ο πιο σκληρός στο πλάι
αυτός κρατάει τα σύνεργα
γελάει μα δε μιλάει.

Καρφώσανε το γίγαντα
στο βράχο του Καυκάσου
τρία πουλάκια πέρασαν
και του 'λεγαν: Στοχάσου

αν μπορει να ανεβασει καποιος τον ''Γιγαντα'' με τον Γαργανουρακη και την Λαβινα νομιζω απο την συναυλια του Μαρκοπουλου στο Ηρωδειο το 1990 (το εδειξε στην εκπομπη της Φλεσσα ''στα Ακρα'' τις 30/9/2011)

I'm sorry, I dont mean to offend. But times are dire, its not worth pretending these religions are ok for me, anymore. Our people were at their very BEST and achieved all of those GREAT things the world knows and owes our ancestors for BEFORE the soul crushing, mind perverting false religion of christianity was imposed on us. Think!! There *must* be a reason why! In their quest to destroy Hellenic civilization,destroying our religion to them was akin to "cutting off our nation's head"

@sspgr Thanks kindly, I know its about Prometheus. i wish we could bring back ALL such songs lost by being forbidden to be sung at various times in our history, or otherwise. Ellas' true religion was robbed from us. Replaced with a religious virus; a pack of LIES written by the Fathers of Lies, by design to destroy our true spirituality & religion. Thusly Hellenes' unmatched creativity and vitality was destroyed. Rome didnt stand a chance after christianity was imposed on its ppl. Europe too.

such an excellent song!  It brings me back somehow to a time when things made sense, when our people still had their true spiritual identity and common sense intact, along with the fertile ground thus created which encouraged free expression of the soul... before being made to all but lose those things by having christianity imposed upon them.
