The Spanish painter and print maker Francisco Goya was born in Aragon in 1746. His family moved to Zaragoza a few years later. When he was 14, he became an apprentice to the painter José Lujan. He later tried his hand at art in Madrid and Rome before he began to gain some popularity. By the time he was 40, he was named court painter to Charles IV. He continued to paint until his death at the age of 82. He has been called the last of the Old Masters and the first of the moderns.

  • magnificent..

  • Amazing..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much for this tremendous exhibition of the great painter. The spectrum of this genius must be appreciated also in the context of his courageous social commentary that is woven, and blatant in many cases, throughout his works of art. He was making fun of the aristocracy, and he was consistently a crusader for peace in his "anti-war etchings. IN a way he was kind of like Milos Forman's Amadeus Mozart,, thumbing his nose at his patrons.

  • Buen dia quedo a sus ordenes.
