Shouldn't that bowed instrument be played on the legs?

bowed instruments of this type and size are depicted in medeival art as being played on the legs, on the arms, and the neck as lindsay played in the video. she plays it on the legs sometimes when we sit, but for standing that doesn't work too well.Thank you for your interest.
