i saw him on 'the hill' tour at chicago's old town school with heywood on steel and john convertino (calexico, friends of dean martinez) on drums. saw him many times since, but none so transcendent. magical show. this is a great clip, artfully shot and hell of one document of this underrated, underappreciated artist.

I saw Buckner in a tiny club in Washington DC in the months after The Hill came out, A-frikkin-mazing show...weird dude, though.
