An excerpt from Fyodor Dostoevsky's masterpiece, Crime and Punishment. Read by a bad actor, thespian wannabe of the worst degree. I've been called a lesbian, but never a thespian...yet. Check out part two, which is a response to this one. (hint- the thumbnail looks the same)

  • Very nice. I love Dostoyevsky, and I don't watch TV very often (except for DVD's and the weather).

There's an excellent Russian film version of this that was made in 1970 (or around there). It's pretty faithful to the book, running almost 4 hours. You should check it out.

  • Thank you so much for the suggestion Goblingirl.

  • For someone who is not a thespian, a surprising depth of feeling and sincerity comes through your presentation. You leave me feeling that you identify with the mare. It's as if you've been brutally beaten yourself simply for living your truth and announcing to the world who you really are. Superb!

  • I am blessed really- great family and friends. I have never felt like I have been beaten- but I do feel the need to express and emote. Don't know why... I can feel empathy. I'm the chick that cries during films like Gone With the Wind.

  • read "C&P" about 12 years ago in grad school--but "The Idiot" and "Brothers Karamozov'" are his greater novels, IMHO (nobody beats "Prince Mishkin" in my estimation)

  • What's an "egg-zurp?"

  • Right now I'm eating barbecue potato chips. *munch munch munch*

  • i cried when i read this part of the book. made me so sad.

  • "Not a lesbian?" get out lol....

  • why arent you in porn sweetheart?

  • Years ago I forced myself to read "The Brothers Karamazov" and "Crime and Punishment," to broaden my literary horizons. It started off rough, but then I found myself more engrossed in those books than any other I'd ever read. They are nothing short of fantastic, and led me to read other classics. Pulp novels are cotton candy, while Dostoevsky's books are a full-course meal. Thanks for uploading this and reminding me to re-read this great book.

  • USA girls can read? no comix no tv? awesome:)

  • it would have been more interesting if you were reading it naked.

  • That was Great!

  • I'm glad you read this. One of the most vivid passages in the book. You don't need to be a thespian to read this stuff. It's great just how it is, although you read it very well. Thanks for the time and effort.
