@MAZDAEYESONLY I drive a 79 Alfa Romeo Spider *same class* I've owned a Corvette. Vettes are fast and fun. Granted the Alfa *or MX5* isn't as fast nor even comes close in HP. They arn't slow. Absolute joy to drive as well.

@MAZDAEYESONLY As a 95' Miata owner I agree. The problem in America is the low fuel cost and wide roads. We can comfortably drive a large SUV and afford the fuel. Therefore, the cheapest cars in the States bottom out at around 130 hp (the hp figure for my NA Miata). Americans therefore saw the original Miata as a disappointment since high-school-Jimmy's Hyundai Elantra was just as fast off the line.
Fortunately, the 2013 Miata will lose weight and power to be like the original.

@MAZDAEYESONLY No its not about power, but power is always a plus when the chassis can handle it. I wouldn't mind dropping a V8 in one. :)

I want a miata :( They're sporty, fun, but also get good gas mileage.

Only americans think more power= more faster.... thats why enjoy kicking asses in a miata... its handling make it the fastest thing out there!

Actually 68% of all new NC MX-5 Car Buyers are MALE!
Just because it does not have Massive amounts of Horse Power many think it is a girls car.
YOU do not Understand the meaning of a Balanced Sports Car that does not need more power, it is the Complete package of the MX-5 that makes it what it is.
The Miata/MX-5 came in 3rd in America's BEST Drivers car by respected Motor Trend Mag in 2009, beaten only by a Porsche and Audi R8.
Everyone must be wrong..
