  • Well, I must say that this site compromizes audio stream, probably, when it converts it.I just watched this video file on my PC- the sound is much better, with "stereo" effect. I tried to upload it on this site again, with the same result.Sorry.

  • It's very easy to criticize, especially making comparison with studio recordings. This execution is very good, expression and dynamics can be heard by anyone who would be not envious of this respectable pianist.

  • He has great dynamic and color changes. It's just that the microphones on cameras compress the sound, so it's all the same volume.

  • This guy thinks he still is in vienna with the overcoat.

  • Chopin DID NOT write Subito Piano in measure 17, why does almost every pianist do this??

  • No other rendition I've heard plays the downward arpeggios so smoothly. Bravo.

  • no, it's because you used the microphone in the camera. Try sticking a condenser above the soundboard

  • It's very beautiful, the legato between each parts is really inspiring, I think this is the way to play this Etude, and I am thankful to hear this version because now I find this Etude really more interesting. Thank you very much for sharing your video

  • @ruo58742 It isn´t. It´s ugly how it is been played by the 95% of the pianists today.

  • I am glad to have the opportunity to hear you Chopin Etude - I am pleased to hear YOUR interpretation (I didn't listen in order to hear Pollini or Cortot or Ashkenazy - I am glad to hear you, so all the comments comparing this to other pianists don't make a difference).

  • It's probably just the recording, but it sounds like way too much pedal. Great smoothness though. He's got the beautiful harp effect, without the arpeggio jumps sticking out. I find Pollini best because he has a great bass melody balance to go with the treble, his piano is bright and he plays brightly. This Morozov performance sounds like it would be very good if the audio is the problem and not excessive pedal.

  • i think i will favorite this just to remind me to play it with the same smooth sense of ease that this pianist manages. Warm rich sound mmmmm

  • Some wit with an incisive sense of humor once called this etude a runaway chorale. In fact, if you reduce it to chords in four-part harmony it does sound like a chorale.
