Getting kids literate is easy with this well-built program! There isn't any other program on the market that is this good, ask any teacher who has used it, kids love it, teachers love it and the test scores prove it! This program works with bright students who find it challenging and fun and it also works with Special Ed students, Autistic Students, ADHD students, ESL or ELL -English Language Learners, indeed every learning style is addressed in the program. Sing, Spell, Read & Write helps children learn to read, write and spell through 36 carefully-sequenced steps and it is multisensory. The program is easy-to-use in the classroom or home and is comprehensive - providing you with all the tools you need at your fingertips! Children love learning through the program's phonics songs, games, and fun routines that use music to build lasting skills! The 1998 Version of SSR&W is the best, in my opinion, Buy the home kit in our Bookstore at www.abcwritestartread.com

  • Use multiple senses to learn is the message. Just please tell me why we need a program. Why not sing songs, play itouch spelling games, read and write in the home. It is not rocket science.

  • @justinbr1 Indeed, the songs, touch spelling games, reading and writing are great, the SSR&W program offers much more, however, there are many, many avenues to the brain which are important to access while learning this most important skill. This is a direct, systematic, explicit, phonetic program which incorporates every discipline to bring fluency and a very high level of literacy. The problem with picking and choosing rather than following the system is that you will miss some things.

  • I've recently learned about this wonderful program, and had a chance to speak with Sue Dickson, the program's originator. I'm convinced you can't do better than Sing, Spell, Read & Write. Please, people, do not even think about Sight Words, Dolch Words, and the rest--all claptrap ("The Big Stupid," as I've called it in an article). There are many fine phonics programs for you to consider. What sets this one apart is the use of music and singing.

  • @BruceDeitrickPrice Thank you Bruce, parents and teachers are the victims of poor curriculum choices by their school districts. Many of these people who are in charge have NEVER taught and if they have they have certainly never taught kids to read, Sing, Spell, Read & Write is a sure thing and works all the time! The Curriculum Directors in schools and Reading Specialists ought to be fired for poor test scores, NOT the teachers!

  • I remember the songs from when I was 3 years old because my mom was teaching my brother so he could start school at the age of 4 because his birthday was late. He was on a third grade reading level when he was tested. I am using this method with my korean students.

  • @monilove5 Glad you are still using this program, pass this important information on to all your teachers and tutors, we CAN get everyone reading fluently with this program! Thanks for posting and be sure to like this video! Christine Damico

  • Wow! Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, I am interested. I will call you soon about this.

  • @1falconeye2 Dear Brave Teacher, Sing, Spell, Read & Write WILL help your kids score well on the FCAT. Call me or email again here (800) 541-3245 - I will help guide you, for free. I want to see your students prove everyone wrong!!!

  • I am a public school ESOL self contained program and do not like the Houghton Mifflin program. Yes, they are still using whole language and it is terrible. When these kids reach 3rd grade they lack in fluency. the district benchmarks are geared toward our standardized test called FCAT. I've been searching and digging and teaching phonics to my children. I have many who have been passed along since kindergarten and can't read, under the excuse of "they're ESOL/ELL".

  • @unprofitableservant4 Yes, SSR&W is the BEST on the market! Teaching kids to read has never been so easy and so much fun! Enjoy!
