The problem with this show is that it had a nice idea but was buried in the wrong kind of show.
The concept of a guy who loses his money and aims to live a simple life is nothing new per se but the fact he is a multimillionaire who has bottomed out gives it a nice spin.
Sadly, they stuck him with a family and that weighed down the idea in incredulity.
Apparently, people weren't ready or interested in a show like this.

Unless you have a multimillionaire family you wont see shows with maids and houskeepers like THE BRADY BUNCH.
Grammer is not a good fit on a family sitcom and you have to keep in mind that CHEERS and FRASIER were adult shows.
Besides, Grammer was on a good show BACK TO YOU but it didn't get the support from Fox or viewers.
Also, McGraw and Grammer here talk as if both parents working is a "new" concept when they have been working for years.
