  • @belladonna137 "We only wanted everything to be perfect. To be close was perfect in our minds. We were like 'oh yes, we're close so we're going to get more points'. When we noticed that we were really, really close, we didn't react fast enough." Now in regards to Bryce Davison, who got back to training last week, has difficulties to take this. According to Jessica, he will finally be ready for the competition in Tokyo at the end of March. Jean-François Dumar, Radio Canada

  • @belladonna137 "It was a shock for her. For us as well to realize that the extent of the cut was so big. It was a shock and it still is today, but we've received comfort and help by our family." It was also the case for Julie Morin, Jessica's best friend. "I immediately called Claudette, her mother, and she confirmed the news. It was very emotional, this thing." When thinking back, the skater understands that she owes this accident to her concern about always getting the best result.

  • @belladonna137 I don't remember the moment when it happened. When they got me out of the rink, I don't remember that at all." The multiple stitches, however, do not allow any doubt about the truthfulness of the hit. "They made stitches on three different levels inside, and on the outside, too, just to close that up." The relatives of the Canadian champion stress her courage; for them, last month's competition remains a troubling event.

  • Even though the marks from her accident are still very visible, Jessica Dubé has obviously moved on.

"Mentally, it didn't affect me at all. Huh, I cared more about the scar I would have on my face, but since the doctors told me it would disappear, I feel very good and it's like nothing had happened to me." The athlete also says that she has trouble remembering the violent hit with the skate of her partner Bryce Davison. "Me, I thought that my nose was broken.
