New Glasses

I got new glasses. I can actually see through them. Plus the usual ramble about stuff - weight gain, weight loss, walking, hayfever, teacher training.

And yes I flick my hair a lot - it's because it's long and it keeps getting in my face. That's the only reason.

The big glasses I actually wore between the ages of 13 and 15 - I got contact lenses as soon as they let me!

New glasses - as in those of a person in authority, or indeed an authority. The old big round ones - as in an eighties stock broker/bond trader or indeed anyone in a 80's film or of the eighties, Wall Street...American Psycho etc

I just got new glasses last weekend. The funny thing is all the glasses in the store had the same shape lens, which I find to be too narrow for my face. The salesgirl explained that it was the fashion. I asked her , well what if the current fashion doesn't suit you? Shouldn't there be a variety of lens shapes? She had no answer, but I ended up getting the widest lenses that were just a tiny bit wider than the all the other hundreds of glasses in the store.
